Beyond simple verification

AI-powered Proof of Participation represents new paradigm: the ability to describe any goal or challenge and confirm whether it is achieved.

In the Ralla model, creators define goals using natural language descriptions, reference images, or a combination of both to capture intent. Participants then submit outcomes in the form of text, photos, or video which are evaluated against the creators original requirements. Instead of relying on checklists, timestamps, or manual verification, the system interprets whether the essence of the challenge was met. This allows flexible, context-aware confirmation of real-world actions, creative tasks, or experiential goals at scale.

The Opportunity

Ralla replaces the rigid constraints of check-ins and QR codes with the creative freedom to create a richer form of participation and engagement. The applications for participant verification are broad:

  • On-site contest verification
  • Skill-based competition verification
  • Fan Access and VIP qualification
  • Audience participation events
  • Event activations

Authoring Activities

Ralla provides the tools to extend from a single event verification into an act of creative authorship. The platform offers creators the ability to design structured sequences of goals, decisions, and validations that participants progress through in real time. By chaining verification events together creators can author living “quests” that feel more like guided experiences than static tasks. Each step is defined in human terms (text, images, examples of success), while the AI handles interpretation and verification, allowing creators to focus on narrative flow, intent, and meaning.

Behind the Scenes: Visual Language Models

Visual Language Models (VLM) are a specialized form of LLMs optimized for fast interpretation of images. In combination with the telemetry provided by mobile devices, VLMs are becoming an important tool to help verify real world status and progress. Applications derived from VLMs are used increasingly to verify product delivery, in construction, and in the insurance industry. At Ralla, we’re using VLMs to unlock the ability for participants to work independently and complete tasks using the interpretation of captured images to provide a richer, more informative forms of verification.
